Traditionally a bed for singles, this 54 by 75 inch mattress is a great bed for singles who want to save space but who also want to get a good rest with plenty of room to manuver on the bed. For couples it won’t be the best type of bed to sleep on, but it can work if it is your only options.

 

Twin and Twin XL

 

The twin XL size is 36 by 80 inches, and the twin is 38 by 75 inches, both of which are pretty good for individual sleepers. Whether or not you spring for the extra 5 inches is going to depend on how tall you are and if you have the extra space in your room. But traditionally these beds and mattresses are intended for single sleepers only.
